I am very happy with my Sealy Posturepedic mattress, but when I was looking for a mattress I also looked into the Sealy True Form mattress. It’s essentially a memory foam mattress.

Memory foam has some great benefits and if you can’t afford the Posturepedic mattress right now you might want to consider this as a cheaper alternative. These mattresses are usually made from polyurethane and have additional substances added that improve their density and viscosity. They are very reactive to body heat, so after only a few minutes the mattress will take the shape of your body.
This offers much better support than a traditional mattress and also reduces pressure points on your body, leading to a better and more comfortable night’s sleep. A memory foam mattress is much better at supporting the body’s naturally occurring shape than a regular mattress. Our spines have a ‘S’ shape and back problems are often caused by an incorrect sleeping position and support due to a weak or cheap mattress. This is especially true if the mattress is old and past its best.
Memory foam mattresses often don’t need to be turned over, which is probably good because they are quite heavy. You might also find a memory foam mattress quite warm and cosy in the winter as it keeps the heat in well, although in the summer you might find it a bit much. If you don’t want to go the whole hog and buy a complete mattress, you can get a memory foam topper which is usually around 3 inches thick. It goes over your existing mattress.
One thing to bear in mind with memory foam mattresses is that they will give off a ‘chemical type’ smell for a few days after unwrapping. They will arrive at your door, heavily compressed and usually rolled up, the best plan is to unwrap it and leave it laid out in a spare room for a few days before you use it, so you don’t have to put up with the smell, which could be unpleasant.
Introducing the Sealy True Form Mattress
The Sealy True Form mattress has received many great reviews online and it certainly looks like a great mattress, I tried one in a shop a while back and it was definitely very comfortable. As I mentioned before, it is cheaper than the Posturepedic mattress so is probably a good option if you’re on a limited budget. It has two layers and is designed in such a way that it helps to draw away body heat, thus alleviating the overheating problem. The 9 series will also have a zip off velour cover, plus the benefit of a 20 year warranty.
It’s a great mattress that you should consider, but for me I wouldn’t swop out my Sealy Posturepedic mattress for anything! My recommendation would definitely be to save up the extra cash and go all out for the Posturepedic mattress, you will definitely be glad you did, as it certainly offers you a night’s sleep like no other!
